Wymondham Rugby Club RFU

A Great evening last night at the Wymondham Rugby Club end of season fundraising dinner with special guests Will Greenwood and Roger Dakin.

It is always good to be part of the end of season dinner and on the Chairman’s table along with my wife Rebecca, so thanks to Andrew Kirby and Wymondham Rugby Club for a fantastic evening.

Roger Dakin the MC for the evening, was the England Hockey Goalkeeper in the 1970’s and was a very accomplished MC on the night with some excellent stories about his England Hockey days, and a never ending series of jokes and innuendos that had myself and the 500 guests laughing all evening.

Will Greenwood of course needs no introduction, a member of the 2003 England Rugby World Cup Winning team in Australia, and Will’s after dinner speech was superb. It goes without saying that some of the stories around the antics during Rugby matches are what legends are made of, and Will Greenwood’s England stories are no exception. All in all Will Greenwood is a great after dinner speaker and a real pleasure to meet on the evening.

Also in attendance was Katy Mclean England’s Women’s Winning Rugby World Cup captain in 2014.

So in a Rugby World Cup year it was fantastic to have two Rugby World Cup winners at the 2015 end of season fundraising charity dinner.

A great night and well organised by Wymondham Rugby Club, and hopefully the charity funds raised will go some way to help fund Star Throwers Cancer Care & Support and Norfolk Air Ambulance.
